College Magazine Analysis 2

This college magazine has a lot more going on. Its one I would pick up in college and flick through, or maybe even buy. The colour scheme is black white and yellow, with a one off eye catching pink splat, probably advertising a competition. The colours used appeal to both the female and the male sex. The man on the front looks like a college student, therefore appealing to both sex in college. He is happy and smiling and looks like he enjoys his college life, which is a good message to give students. The subtitles are organised around the man, and not just scattered anywhere. It gives a sense of organisation which is a key skill to maintain whilst as a student in their college life. Having a plain dark background makes everything in front stand out and look eye catching, whereas the magazine below is and bland not very interesting. The masthead is covered slightly by the mans head, but it isn't necessary to show the whole word because you can tell it is a college magazine as the man is holding law and society books. The headlines appeal to a student, talking about things such as Blackberry smart phones and making money whilst on campus. These are all things students, which are mainly teenagers, are most interested in.
