Double Page Spread Analysis 1
This is a
feature article from NME, talking about one of my favourite music artists, Lily
Allen. The title of the article is one of the first things we see when we look
at this page in a magazine. The font style is completely different from the NME
front cover and contents page, which keeps to a simple and mature font. It has the edgy look about it using different sized letters, like the letters have been cut from different magazines and pasted onto the page and used as the title. It also has a sense of rebelion about it, connecting with the image. Although
the font is different, the colours are kept to a bare minium and are the same as
the front cover and contents page. Red, black and white. The red is used to make 'Lily Allen' bolder in the kicker, and also the name of the journilist. This has been done because Lily is wearing mainly red on her shirt. The arcticle uses a drop cap with the 'I' which is common within the industry. The columns have gutters so that we know where to read, also making it easier on the eyes.
