Magazine Analysis 2

NME magazine is another well-established musical magazine. Although in this issue the mast head is completely visible, in other issues it is slightly hidden, but any customer would know exactly what magazine is was, even if they weren’t going to choose it because it is so popular and well established to their particular target audience. I like this front cover because the picture of Florence is a very flattering extreme close up. The bright red of her hair is the first thing that you notice when you look at the cover. The white used for the mast head and the cover stories are highly contrasting on the red and therefore stand out. The black, white and red complement each other and really makes the magazine cover pop. This particular magazine is a cover special, it is different to previous magazines because it is simplistic, which is unlike the typical NME front cover and could potentially be something a collector would want to buy. ‘The state of music today’ cover story title introduces a list of popular bands and artists as well as some mainstream artists. This could appeal to all different types of people into different music and possibly entice new customers to the magazine, after reading this particular one.
