Adverts

These are the adverts that would be featured my magazine. they correspond to the target audience which is 18-30 years old. I used NME magazine as a basis and flicked through a few to see which adverts were included in some of their issues. It became apparent that a lot of the adverts were things that I would buy products from, which made it easier for me to put this mood board together. I have put two brands of alcohol on the mood board, Jack Daniels and Heineken. These are the two most popular brands which are featured in many magazines across the globe. These are also two of my favourites. The waterfront is a venue in Norwich. I have put this logo on my mood board to show that in every music magazine there are always gigs advertised. Sometimes there is a full page or even a two page spread for gigs, depending on how popular the band is and what the demand for the tickets are. Lynx deodorant is a deodorant everyone wears or has worn previously. They now have brought out a 'Lynx Attract' which is a product for men and women. This will increase sales now as they will appeal to both genders. Boots in a commonly known essentials store, appealing again, to both men and women. There is usually a pharmacy situated in most boots stores which is maybe something my magazine is trying to encourage, for people with drinking or drug habits. It also sells makeup and hair products, mainly appealing to women, but in my magazine, because it has a target audience of both men and women, it would be a bad idea to but an advert in advertising make up, as it would only attract the female population. Nikon is a well-known brand of camera, both SLR and digital. This would probably appeal to a more upper class person, as photography is quite an expensive hobby. If it was an individual that liked going to lots of gigs and taking pictures, this would be the perfect advert for them. I have put a picture of the Reading and Leeds logo to symbolise all music festivals. Often around the summer time line ups for festivals are revealed and tickets go on sale. Again these can be single pages in magazines or double page spreads. People of all ages enjoy festivals and they are commonly known and well publicised. The apple logo is a must and will probably be featured in most music and other magazines across the globe. Apple is a brand that has taken over most of the world, offering phone devices, iPads, laptops and other accessories. Nowadays it is seen as crazy not to own something by Apple. It is an easy and fast way to stay in touch and use social networking sites such as twitter to keep up with the latest news and fashions and follows popular bands for information about there everyday lives and tour plans. I have put a Ford logo on my mood board because I think for my target audience, it is an affordable brand to maintain. People between 18-30 are often just learning to drive, and need something that is affordable to get them around. It would be strange to see an advertisement for a car brand such as Jaguar in an NME magazine for example. The people that read NME aren't upper class enough to afford a car so expensive to buy and to run. Easyjet is one of the cheapest flight organisers around at the moment. They offer cheap flights to most places in the world that people of my target audience would be able to manage. Not all people would be organising holiday at such a young age but if they were to, this would be the best choice for them, being in the demographic profile that they are. Topshop, Converse and Asos all fall into the same category. They are all popular shops which sell the latest trends and fashions. Topshop and Asos sell affordable clothing, which also offer student discount, which is perfect for my target audience' age range.
